As I interested myself in evolution of new technologies, I looked upon what was on the web and found some interesting informations.
Maybe some of these things will happen in 2007 ?

Online Video will be essential

Internet video and Internet video advertising are getting the biggest media.
In fact, the websites that propose videos are growing faster than the dollar !
YouTube was bought by Google and Dailymotion is waiting for a deal. TF1 bought Wat.tv and try to use the user-generated content of the Internet for the television.
Advertising also knows a great change with the buzz marketing or viral marketing. This is a way of spreading a spot by a video.

Social Networks

2006 also was the year of the social networks. You have have to take a look at the bigger, MySpace, to see the expansion of this. I think that ad spending on online social networks should grow considerably in 2007. It may be linked to factors such as international expansion, "niche" networks and Google's deal to supply search technology to MySpace.

In the same order, Linked'In propose a way of finding a job just in rating people you know.

For example, I know a project manager, who knows a director. The director knows a ministre of the governement and those ministre knows the president. It's the less than 6 steps theory of social networks !

Mobile TV

Mobile TV took its first steps in 2006 with professional content. The World Cup offered a first glimpse of what the broadcasting future for mobile might look like, and in 2007 another crucial element will be added to the mobile-TV mix — user-generated content (CGC). Given the impact the Web equivalent of this development has had in 2006, advertisers and marketers are likely to face a dizzying array of new choices.

Word-of-Mouth

The influence of consumer generated content (CGC) on US consumers' purchase decisions will continue to grow in 2007. Now websites are fully about early adpaters and this will grow.

Broadband Services

When broadband emerged, it was distinguished from dial-up by its always-on nature and the greater bandwidth available to users. These characteristics were seen as reason enough to trade up from dial-up. Now, however, broadband is about value-added services and is driven by providers bundling voice, video and data together. Services such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) are approaching the 30% penetration range. eMarketer predicts that one in four broadband households in 2007 will subscribe to a VoIP service, rising to nearly 40% of broadband households by 2010.

Secure HTTP (S-HTTP) is a secure message-oriented communications protocol designed for use in conjunction with HTTP. S-HTTP is designed to coexist with HTTP's messaging model and to be easily integrated with HTTP applications.

Secure HTTP provides a variety of security mechanisms to HTTP clients and servers, providing the security service options appropriate to the wide range of potential end uses possible for the World-Wide Web (WWW). S-HTTP provides symmetric capabilities to both client and server (in that equal treatment is given to both requests and replies, as well as for the preferences of both parties) while preserving the transaction model and implementation characteristics of HTTP.

Several cryptographic message format standards may be incorporated into S-HTTP clients and servers. HTTPS (S-HTTP) supports interoperation among a variety of implementations, and is compatible with HTTP. S-HTTP aware clients can communicate with S-HTTP oblivious servers and vice-versa, although such transactions obviously would not use S-HTTP security features.

S-HTTP does not require client-side public key certificates (or public keys), as it supports symmetric key-only operation modes. HTTPS differs from Digest-Authentication in that it provides support for public key cryptography and consequently digital signature capability, as well as providing confidentiality.
Another popular way of making secured web communication is HTTPS, which is the HTTP runs on top of TLS or SSL for secured transactions.

RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary". It's an XML format for sharing content among different Web sites such as news items. A Web site can allow other sites to publish some of its content by creating an RSS document and registers the document with an RSS publisher.

Did Internet help increase of criminality ?

It's sad but true. Internet also helps people to extend bad practics as cyber-criminality.

The most spreaded example is spaming. My mail is always full of messages advising me to "emphasize my penis" ! I think it's a kind of intrusion in my own intimity.
The hoax are also spread.These are false messages that advise you to pay with your credit card and so on, by example. Wikipedia tells about it that it's "A hoax is an attempt to trick an audience into believing that something false is real. Generally there is some material object involved, which is actually a forgery". A website explains what is false and what is not. It's Hoaxbuster.
Also the virus spread by spaming and hoax can't destruct my computer. To fight this practice, I have a Macintosh. This kind of computer has a very high security system wich avoids virus.

YouTube uses streaming technologies to allow people sharing videos without downloading any file.
It's very interesting for different reasons. First of all, it's a free and fast way of discovering videos. As it's in streaming, it doesn't take space on your computer. Thirs, it allows people to create and share their own productions !
Others websites offer the same thing : there is dailymotion and also 9stream.
As I'm an otaku, I use to watch animes on YouTube, like my favourite one : Naruto.

I also made a full website with animes in streaming : Saint_Seiya !

At the end, YouTube could be used in professionnal goal. Let me explain. When people are searching for jobs, they just send documents to watch their profile. But further, we can imagine to present yourself by a little video.
But YouTube is limited at 150 Mo. It means that more than 20 minutes is not really easy.

How Internet helps people learning english ?

Yes, Internet english !

Learning English has become easier with the increase of Internet and e-communications. Before, it was simply admitted that this language was the mostly employed. Now, it’s spoken and easily understood by the majority of users. I think English has really becoming the language which stands for the symbol of real communication and share.
On the web, English is a kind of new Esperanto.
In fact, an increasing number of sites propose free english lessons like this german website : learnenglish.
From other part, Google has many offers like language tools that convince people to read directly in the mother tongue.
In the same way, the technical language used in communication or in informatic is english.
For myself, I learn english in watching VO movies like Prison Break or seeking the lyrics of my favourite songs, like Fiona Apple's one !

What is a podcast or how to be brillant in a conversation ?
Times have changed. As I was younger, I used to talk with my friends about simple things as “Where we’ll gonna eat at dinner ?” or “Did you see Star Wars ?”. Now, I feel “has been”. I don’t know what a “podcast” is… That’s why I decide today to change my world and to enter another one : the Information & Communication Technologies’ world.

"Podcast" is a term refering to a multimedia file [video or audio], which results from a "podcasting". Actually, since it appears, the definition has been extended, as it can be seen on Wikipedia’s web site : "The term podcast, like 'radio', can mean both the content and the method of delivery."
Podcast is not like another digital audio format, because it uses DDL and RSS technology.
The word doesn’t belong to Apple though it involves one of its product, the iPod. Actually, the term was chosen by Adam Curry. On the beginning, it only was a way of transfering files from iTunes to iPod. The first users were called 'iPodders'. Then, Apple has issued a cease and desist to Podcast Ready, claiming that such terms as "Podcast Ready" infringe on Apple's trademarks. They also talked about confusion among consumers.

I think that it’s just a way for Apple to recover the “Podcast” and all its uses as a mother would try to keep home his 34th child !

Everybody’s talking about Web 2.0 but it stays a word.
Such terms as “revolution” or “new” are frequently employed when the matter concern Information & Communication Technologies. First, I was afraid, then I was petrified. But now, I feel better ‘cause I understand ! Let’s share !

Web 2.0 or Net 2.0 is one of these new concepts that become trends and create passionate and lyrics conversations. It’s also useful when you have some tea by friends : “Yes, with a cloud of milk and some web 2.0, please”.
The web 2.0 is first of all a vision of new technologies. Now, we can do a lot by computer development, like API, RSS or AJAX.
In the same order, can people do a lot ? The Web 2.0 is a part of the answer. The users are able to consider the web as a new wisdom of self expression and abilities. It’s the first time that way of thinking are so lead to self-development. By example, you always wanted to write a book ? Now, do it and people will read it. The users can now have their own spaces, like with Del.icio.us, MySpace or FlickR and bring some of themselves - ”user-generated content”.

According to the Community, I want to say that the “Web 2.0” is the most important development on the web and in e-communications in the last six months. What about you ?

The expression “web neutrality” involves “network neutrality”. This term and trend is born as a reaction against phone companies and cable operators who try to buy and lead the web.
The main idea is that telecommunications providers are attempting to profit from their investment in residential networks and return on the market.

DRM or the way of chasing pirates. Did you say "pirate" ?!

Are you still afraid of words ? I said "words", not "swords"...
When I hear such terms as "DRM", I do.

What is DRM ?
It stands for "Digitals Rights Management".
Against pirates, the solution was DRM. It appears to be a security system which prevents from illegal uses of downloading files.
What does it mean ?
Concretely, such files have a restricted function. By the way, the person who buy these files can't give them or sale them.
But ! There's a "but"...
Once I used a legal way of downloading music.
[It doesn't mean I'm other part on the time in an illegal way !]
But as I work with a Mac', I don't have the Microsoft applications and sometimes can't use the files I paied !

Nowadays, people are "in", people are "linked". What's the change ? Do people speak more ? Are they more reliable ?
I don't know. Internet and the web are some of theses revolutions that need years [and years] to be undestood.
Today, I can see and speak to thousand of people I don't know, who don't know me neither my country, my language, and so on. We are linked !
I write about my day on my blog, I discuss about my favourite songs on MySpace, I speak with other fans of Japanime on forums, I find work by knowing some people...
And tomorow, I'll have some english lessons by MSN...

What I aim to do and be :

generosity

Generosity appears especially in the world of electronic cultures because each person tries to give something he got to others. By example, I used to help on a board as a teacher. It’s e-bahut. And as I spent time for students, I think it had developed a part of my generosity.
So, don’t poke fun at me but I have to say it also learned me how to be patient, comprehensive and reliable. After all, it was a teaching experience and it was full of great and rich experiences.

discipline

Discipline is not just a pejorative term. It also involves a self way of being right and a real will. A good example of discipline is the way people have to learn how tu use the technics of blog or messenger to be linked with others !

patience

You have to be patient to learn. It’s the first step. It seems to be now evident but the e-culture involves a self-formation and investment. You have to be patient to learn the several technics. By example, as I liked the web universe, I learned HTML and PhP languages. Now, I’m pretty good but I had to be very strong.
The tutorials I used were by example HTML "goodies".

perseverance

In the same order than patience, the perserverance is one of the qualities that lead you to you goal. I think that patience and perseverance are the two parts of a real human being.

insight

I thing insight and comprehension are also linked. Now more than before you really have to understand the world in which you live. It’s a way of receiving all that people can bring you.

And I want to do it step by step, ooh baby !
